Enjoy the Little and Big Piney rivers,
the Gasconade River and Roubidoux River, which is a trophy brown
trout management area. We're also near the Lake of the Ozarks, which
has hosted several Bassmaster tournaments in recent years.
Mark Twain National Forest also surrounds us and offers a truly
wonderful outdoor paradise. For golfers there's a semi-private
country club with one of the finest 9-hole golf courses in the area.
The bluegrass festivals are held
just outside town over Memorial and Labor Day weekends. People
arrive in their RVs and campers from all over the United States for
the festivals. The Saddle Club sponsors an annual horse show at its
arena just outside town.
The Dixon Lions Club holds a carnival every summer and Christmas
parade in December, where all the children receive a special treat
from Santa and have the opportunity to have their picture taken with
him. Dixon has a semi-private country club with one of the finest
9-hole golf courses in the area, clubhouse and swimming pool. |
