Dixon, in Pulaski County, is centrally
located in a growing Ozarks ranching and retirement area. It is
served by State Highway 133 and Interstate 44, about 20 miles north
of Ft. Leonard Wood and within an hour's drive of Jefferson City or
the Lake of the Ozarks. It's only 1.5 hours to Springfield and 2
hours to Branson or St. Louis.
Enjoy the Little and Big Piney rivers, the Gasconade River and
Roubidoux River, which is a trophy brown trout management area.
We're also near the Lake of the Ozarks, which has hosted several
Bassmaster tournaments in recent years.
Dixon has a number of yearly activities. Cow Days began during the
Great Depression and features live music, crafts, auctions, food and
free cow drawings! Bluegrass festivals are held over Memorial and
Labor Day weekends. The Saddle Club sponsors an annual horse show
and the Lions Club holds a carnival and Christmas parade each year.
